Cell Phone Lemon Law

In Illinois, they are taking a firm stance against malfunctioning cell phones. Rightfully so, if you ask us cell phone critics. Last week, the state passed a cell phone law stating that if a person is the recipient of a faulty cell phone 3 times under a contract, then the person is no longer bound under said contract and is free to end or alter it. The law passed by a 72-43 vote in the Illinois house.
Opponents of the law fear that it could encourage people to fake problems with their cell phones solely so that they can get out of their contracts without any penalty. At least for the time being, however, it’s 3 strikes and you’re out for cell phones in Illinois.
